George Green Jr.’s life is a testament to resilience, reinvention, and personal responsibility. Raised in Rochester, NY, he entered the prison system at nineteen, returned twice, and ultimately made the decision in 2001 to break the cycle completely. Through education, mentorship, faith, and discipline, he rebuilt his identity and used every skill available to create a life of purpose. The result of that pivot became twenty years of achievements that now form the backbone of Pandemic Proof.
George became a NYS and California Certified Master Barber, opened two barbershops, completed the Cognitive Thinking Program, earned extensive certifications through the NYS Division of Vocational Education, and contributed to young men’s development through the Men of Excellence program he co-founded. His commitment to service extended into the community through toy drives, giveaways, and collaborations that earned him a People’s Choice Award nomination for social responsibility.
When the 2019 pandemic shut down his businesses, he faced a crisis that would redefine his future.
